  MISSIONS FOR THE MINISTRY

In the beginning Middleman began its ministries, focused to help people in Mexico to be dependent upon God and themselves. We worked in Mexico with the very poor who actually goes thru trash to make their living by recycling tin, glass, cardboard, and anything else that is recyclable.  Although the city dump has been closed since we began Middleman, we never want to forget our beginnings.

The city dump has now been replaced by the squatter's camp.  This camp is a large field that has been invaded by hundreds of poor people that come to Mexico with the hope of finding employment.  They have nothing to go back to so they settle in Matamoros.  These squatter's come to this field with the hopes of purchasing a small piece of land.  Middleman preaches and teaches the word of God to these people.  As God provides they receive clothes, food and God's word with many coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Middleman has always built homes for people through the generosity of various groups who come to Mexico to bless a family with a new home.

We have also opened a school to educate adults.  Many of the people do not have a formal education. These classes give them the opportunity to receive a sound education offering 1st thru 8th  grade curriculum . In addition we offer a trade school teaching specializing in  beauty shop, sewing, bakery, and computer classes for those 13 years of age and above.
Middleman works with the Mexican government who send certified teachers to teach these classes. We provide the building and supplies for this education. Much like in the states once they complete a 9-month class the student receives their certification of graduation. This educational project is changing the lives of so many.

Middleman has also been blessed with a church on the ministry property bringing the word of God and planting seeds. Many of the people attending church services are receiving the gift of salvation, becoming believers in Christ. They are also being taught how to live their lives as Christians with sound Biblical teachings instilling principles and morals that are sometimes lacking. They are taught how God can use them, making them vessels to disciple others for Christ.  The name of the church and school properties are called "Manos del Alfarero" which means in English "Hands of the Potter." This name came about as Rosie (Ministry Director) began to seek in prayer what God wished to name the property. The Holy Spirit began to speak saying "that they would be molding and transforming lives not only through salvation in Christ, but also through the school of education." "The Lord is the Potter and we are the clay," impressed upon by the Holy Spirit.

Rosie had a similar experience in naming the ministry. Once again she sought guidance from God with the Lord saying name it "Middleman Ministries." Rosie then asked why "Middleman" God. God replied, "My Son was the middleman for you and now you are to be the middleman to those who do not know Him."

Dear Pastor:

My name is Rosie Gonzalez and I represent Middleman Ministries, a 501C3 tax-exempt organization.  We work with the very poor in different villages in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Our vision is to help people be self-sufficient relying only upon God and themselves.  Our ministry includes taking food, clothing, medicines, building homes and sharing the love and good news of Jesus Christ.  We opened a school in February 2004 which provides them with adult education and/or a trade.  Our teachers come from the Mexican government and the students are certified with a diploma upon completion of a 9 month school term.  Anyone can give food and shelter to these people, but we believe that teaching them to help themselves would change their lives and that comes through believing in Christ and through education.  At the present time, we are providing 1st through 8th grades for adults 13 years and older, sewing, beauty shop, bakery and computer classes.

God has blessed us in allowing us to open a church in Mexico where we preach and teach the Word of God.  We believe once you receive Jesus as Lord, we become a new creation in Him. We teach God's truth and also how to live a Christian life of being a servant, walking in God's love, being guided by the Holy Spirit and being a good witness for HIM.

Groups from different churches and individuals come to work alongside us to build homes and minister to God's people through any of the ways I have described.  I am a gospel singer and travel the United States singing and sharing the vision God has put upon our hearts for the people of Mexico.

One of the best ways I have seen and experienced in sharing the love of God with His people is to give something to someone who cannot give anything in return.  We ask you to pray and if God leads you to get involved and support this ministry by coming as a group or by sharing your prayers and financial suppport it would be a great blessing.

Enclosed is some information to let you know how your church group can get involved and the cost involved as well.

May the Lord Bless You!

The following is an estimate of the cost of a 7-day trip excluding travel expenses to and from Texas.  The total amounts are for 16 people.  Two (2) Middleman guides and 14 group members.

                    $1,500.00 - Housing
                    $2,100.00 - Meals
                    $4,000.00 - Building cost - 1 framed house
                    $6,000.00 - Building cost - 1 block house
                    $    400.00 - Food distribution for community
                    $    200.00 - Benevolence(special needs for family building for)
                    $    800.00 - Gasoline & bridge fees
                    $9,000.00 - TOTAL COSTS INCLUDING 1 FRAMED HOUSE
                    $11,000.00 - TOTAL COSTS INCLUDING 1 BLOCK HOUSE

The cost per ministry team participant is approximately $643.00 if building a framed house.  The cost per ministry team participant is approximately $786.00 if building a block house.  These costs incorporate the cost of the ministry guides that will travel with the team for the week.

We will register at the hotel after your arrival, followed with a trip to Mexico to tour the area your group will be ministering in.

There will be at least one church service in Mexico during the week.  Sometime during the week, a trip to South Padre Island for a fun day will be scheduled and an afternoon at a Mexican market will also be planned.  The cost of the ministry trip does not include any costs incurred for personal items, souvenirs, etc.  One of the most important words for a missionary is flexability.  Things change and we need to adapt with them.  Middleman is here to work together with your leaders and we are flexible about any changes they would like to make.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

God Bless You!

                                                                CHRISTMAS LETTER

Dear Family:

Our Christmas party this year will be held Saturday, January 1, 2011.  This year's door prizes will be bicycles, chest-a-drawers, stuffed animals and many more prizes along with that gift bag full of gifts which reflects the love that come from people like you each year.  Every woman, man and child will receive this packet of love along with a hot meal, drink and dessert.

We are asking each church or individual to pray about sending a monetary donation to the ministry.  Fuel costs to pick up Christmas items for the party would be about $2,000 round-trip.  Spending that amount would defeat the effort in blessing the people of Mexico.  These monies could be directed in blessing them in other ways.  Items needed will be purchased in Texas and the gift packets will  be prepared in Mexico.  Last year, 1554 attended with 81 people making decisions to receive Jesus as Lord.  We always prepare for 2000 people.

We thank you once again for your continued faithfulness.  You always help us make the people in Mexico feel extra special during this time, our Lord's Birthday.  We pray that January 1st will become the Spriritual Birthday to many of God's people in Mexico.  May the presence and blessings of our Lord be with you and your family this Christmas.  You are in our prayers and forever in our hearts.

                                                                                            In His Service,

                                                                                            Rosie Gonzalez
